FAQ
Fur garments require special care. Once you've bought your fur you'll want to protect your investment. That means taking care of your fur properly. Here are some simple rules to help you get the most out of your fur.
1. Never store fur in a plastic bag.
2. Never leave fur near a direct heat source.
3. If fur gets wet, shake it out and hang it up to dry away from heat in a place where air circulates.
4. Never comb or brush wet fur.
5. Never moth proof fur with chemical sprays.
6. Store your fur during the warm season in a dark, dry and temperature controlled area. A cardboard box up on a shelf is ideal.
7. If furs are heavily soiled have them cleaned by a fur speciaist. NOT a dry cleaner.
8. Avoid hanging furs in a bright place. Bright light can oxidize fur and change its color.
9. If you must clean your fur, lightly wipe off any dirt with a damp cloth and hang to dry. Never get your fur completly wet. The fur itself will dry but the leather will dry and will no longer be soft and supple.
If your head size is approaching the max listed for a specic size it is best to order the next size up. For example, our XL hat is designed to comfortably fit a head size of 23-24". This means if your head circumference is 24" the hat will fit but is likely to be tight. You would be best to order the next size up. However, if your head size is on the smaller end, say 23 1/4" you will still want to order the XL.
The one you like the most! Seriously, if your going to wear a fur garment pick the type of fur you want to wear and don't worry whether it is the warmest or will stand up to the most abuse. All fur is going to be warm! That being said, River Otter is the most durable and likely to stand up to the most abuse.
